Boston College Eagles

2023-2024 Result: 20-16 record (8-12 ACC), NIT appearance

Earl Grant’s Eagles were gutted by the transfer portal this offseason, as they lost major contributors in Quinten Post, Jaeden Zackery and Claudell Harris Jr. They replaced those 3 with mid-major transfers Dion Brown, Chad Venning and Roger McFarlane, but that may not be enough to keep this team out of the basement of the ACC. Brown and Venning had high usages at their respective schools last season and they will most likely be in high usage roles again. If these 2 can find ways to create advantages for themselves and others then this offense may at least be competent, but I am also skeptical of that. The defensive end has a small bright spot with the perimeter defenders of Joshua Beedle, Dion Brown, and Donald Hand Jr displaying some length and athleticism, but it will be the lack of a true defensive anchor that will make the defensive unit below average.

There isn’t much else to say about this team besides the fact they are starving for talent and production on both ends of the floor. I am very concerned about the Eagles competing in the ACC and would be surprised if they finished above the bottom 3 in the conference.
